Once upon a time in an old house located in the suburb of St.Roque (Barcelona) there was a very poor family that couldn’t almost eat when they were hungry. It was formed by an humble waiter and his three sons. His wife had recently died in a tragical car accident when she was driving too drunk and since then his life changed completely. However he was lucky with two of his sons: They were very bright and clever and wanted to go to the university as a consequence they learnt a lot of things to achieve that ; but the fact is they couldn’t because they didn’t have money to pay the university. One of them had guild master’s knowledge and was able to discuss politics. The other son knew a lot of chemistry because he read many books about it and familiarized himself with them.
The youngest son wasn’t as bright as his brothers and had more comprehension problems although he was different and nicer than them. They called him Miki but no one counted him as a brother because he wasn’t as learned as the other two. One day the father’s work superior organized a cool party in order to celebrate his birthday and invited him (the father) and his children, as well as the rest of the waiters that worked for him; the party also pretended to meet his workmen better.
The brothers wanted to impress his father’s superior in order to increase his father’s pay and to improve their social prestige, moreover to receive an special scholarship for them, if possible. As a consequence of that the brothers started preparing themselves checking their knowledges except the youngest one, Miki, that didn’t study because he was enough vain of himself. His father, worried, went to ask him: “Aren’t you preparing for the party, isn’t it?” And Miki answered: “Yes dad. I’ve got just a mind to impress your superior; I’m not as clever as my brothers and I don’t need their cleverness, so I think”. “If you continue this way I won’t leave you to go to the party. You have concerned me and I must think you are a stupid kid. Don’t say anything and go away!” Said the angry father. The responsible brothers were studying all the time and also learnt some manners to like the other people while Miki was considering his father’s words.
The day arrived and they called a taxi at 8.00 o’clock and went to the party. Finally, Miki could go because it wasn’t an average distance. When they arrived they tried to find the superior but it was difficult because there was an incredible crowd inside the building and outside, too. They ultimately saw the superior and two of the brothers came to meet him. “Hello, my name’s Charles. I’m so happy to stay with you. Your father always tells me about you but I’ve never met you. He says you’re really clever and that you know a lot of things. Is it true? ”said the superior. “Yes, well; but only us. Miki, the youngest isn’t interested at all in becoming learned” said the two brothers, “And what does he do?” said the superior “We don’t exactly know because He’s like a ghost. He’s never at house and we think he’s often in the the street playing or something like that” They said. OK. I’ll propose you a thing: If you can amaze my daughter Marcela and she thinks you’re a couple of genius you will be reward very well”.
And they went to know her daughter: She was very pretty and beautiful, she was blond with blue eyes, and they didn’t late to know each other. She was very nice and she was receiving a few suitors, so they had to wait some time to talk with her. When she was ready they went to impress her with their shrewdness: “Hi”.. They said. “Hello. What do you want?” she said. They remembered the promise of his father’s superior. The brother who had knew guild master’s knowledges started to speak about politic but certainly the girl didn’t like him and thought he was boring and conceited. The second boy who knew a lot of chemistry tried to teach her many interesting things about it but the girl stopped him and said: “I’m so disgusted with both you. Please let me say you a thing: You must be very clever but you’re too conceited and I don’t like this type of people, good bye”. Then, the girl walked trough a lobby and the chance made that she met Miki, and when he saw her beauty didn’t hesitate to pray her if she would dance with him. She said yes and they moved to a big room where there were a lot of people dancing and moving their feet. At that time they started to dance a few time and quickly all the people that were dancing too, looked them because they danced really good. After that they talked a lot and he explained her uncomplicated things that liked her. For example they both loved cooking and that’s the reason why he made a special meal for all the present people at the party. The meal was exceptional and tasted so good. Miki was special for his simplicity.
People applauded him and thanks to that his father’s superior impressed of him. His father’s superior was really rich and his family had a lot of money. He rewarded Miki with a work of main cooker and their brothers with some money to pay the university. His father was also recognized as a worthy waiter and of course Miki won the love of his father’s superior daughter, Marcela, that was proud of him.
Since then, their life had improved much and they became the happiest family of St.Roque.
